Civic Holiday weekend

Finally another long weekend!! Didn't have too much planned. My roommates went away for the long weekend without telling me. Thanks guys! If I would have done that to Deb, she would have flipped! I mean I already have a mother don't need another one!
She's just a total Biatch!
I don't know why, but I'm feeling kind of down and lonely this weekend. It is times like this that I miss living in NB. Having most of my best friends and family living close to me and also remembering all the great times we had hanging out… I miss you guys!

Saturday evening

I was invited to Derk and Silmar's housewarming party! It was very nice and relaxing... had a couple of drinks with Rogner and an ex-coworker from Sabre, Nora. Some of Derk's friends were there too and they were very nice... I just love their rooftop patio with the beautiful view of downtown Toronto. Afterwards, everyone went out dancing but I decided to go home instead. Was just not in the mood to go out.

Sunday

I started reading a book called Life of Pi by Yann Martel. I bought it a while back but never got around to read the dam book. But I must say once you start the book it's pretty interesting!

"Life of Pi" might sound ridiculous, but by the time Martel throws Pi out to sea, his quirkily magical and often hilarious vision has already taken hold. (After all, this is, as Martel promises us, a
"story that will make you believe in God.")

Julian (a.k.a. Julio)
One of my best online buddies... Here's hoping to meet him one day and perhaps convince him into moving to Canada!

INDEPTH: SAME-SEX RIGHTS
The Supreme Court and same-sex marriage

On May 5, 2005, the government's same-sex marriage bill passed a second reading, moving it closer to becoming law.

The legislation came to a vote on June 28, 2005. In the lead-up to that vote, cabinet ministers who opposed the bill were urged to vote against it. MP Pat O'Brien, who left the Liberal party over the issue, said some Liberals in cabinet had voted in the past to uphold the traditional definition of marriage.

In the end, Bill C-38 passes by a 158-133 margin, with support from most Liberals, the NDP and the Bloc Quebecois.

The bill became law less than a month later, on July 20, 2005. After being passed by the Senate, the same-sex marriage legislation received royal assent as Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin, acting in her role as deputy governor general, signed it into law.

Canada become the fourth country to recognize gay marriage, after the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain.

Saturday

OKay. So I now have to go for some therapy sessions in order to help block off mental images of my 50 years old roommate that decided to walk around the condo naked this morning. I get up around 9am to go to the bathroom, and I know we're in the middle of our second heat wave of the summer. But what gives the right to my straight roommate to come off from "OUR" balcony NAKED! I mean the woman is 50 years old for crying-out-loud!!! The last thing I needed to see this morning was soggy tits. Thanks roomy! Now WOMAN, go put on some friggin' clothes, PLEASE!

Happy Canada Day!
Here's a patch to be proud of...

Spent the day with my friend Colin and we went to the Beaches to watch the fireworks. Was quite a nice evening! So many people turned up for the fireworks.
