Ontario Science Centre

Today, Lora and I went to check out the famous exhibition at the Ontario Science Centre called Body World 2. For those of you with strong stomachs, you can't go without seeing it.
Over 200 plastinated real human body specimens including 20 whole bodies, healthy and unhealthy organs, body parts and slices. While the exhibition was gross at times, it was fascinating and educating at other times. Offering the public an unforgettable lesson on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle with smoker lungs and obesity specimen - showing us how fat tissue can damage vital organs like the heart and bones and shorten our lives. Christmas Eve

Wow, already Christmas Eve! Tonight I'm going to Colin's place with Buddy. Anthony and his sister, Natalie, are making a rapée pie (Acadian dish) a chicken mixture sandwiched between layers of grated potato, baked in the oven just as our ancestors did.
To start the evening we had some wine, chocolates with some chips and dip... At around 11nish we had the famous rapée pie which at second glance didn't look appetizing, but man was it ever yummy!! It was baked to perfection. According to Anthony, they had put it too long in the oven but I thought it was perfect, since I had not had it in such a long time. Later that night Colin came back from spending Christmas eve with his family and we had fun drinking eggnog with rum and chatting with Natalie about celebrating NYE. Can you believe that we're soon to be in 2006!

Good times had by all!

Friday

This evening I spoke to Diane on the phone. It was really nice catching up as we had not spoken to each other in a while. I really miss my peeps back home... wish I could have gone to NB for the holidays. But I have to look at the bright side of things, I am very lucky that friends of mine have invited me and Buddy over to celebrate the holidays with them.

I am truly blessed!

And that goes without giving Thanks to Julio who invited me to spend the holidays in California! xoxo

Bébé Jay Jay finds himself in front of the Christmas tree holding a candle... this would totally make a great hallmark card.
Don't ya think? :-) Décembre 2005 - Le p'tit garçon à Diane !

I stand in complete awe.
By example, Julio has shown me a new depth to character integrity, in ones self, in ones culture, in ones identity, of pride, of joy, and of goodness. Kind hearted, he walks through life while helping others along the way. What an inspiration he has been to me!

To change or not to change cell phone provider...
that is the question.

But at the same time look at these cute dogs!! How can one resist going with Fido! lol Still trying to find that perfect cell phone... Fido has one that I like but just saw a slider phone with Bell that's not bad either. I'm currently with Bell Mobility... not the grestest I must admit. I've got to give it some serious thoughts.

Sunday

Forgot to turn off my alarm clock last night so of course the dam thing went off in the early morning. Flow93.5 started playing Gospel music... I normally would have been pissed but the song that was playing was so relaxing and the voice of this singer was just amazing! I was so touched by this song that I was actually enlighten and got all teary eyes. (I know such an emotional guy hehe) So I got on my computer and e-mailed Anita Erskine the host of The Word and she told me that it was a Christmas song called Lamb of God by Nicole
C. Mullen.
The song was truly breathtaking.

Saturday

Today I went shopping at the Dufferin mall with *Alfredo*. Doesn't his name just make you hungry? lol Throw in some pasta and you got urself a yummy dish...hehe It was so nice seeing him again! We didn't buy much but I now have a clearer picture of what I'm getting for my parents, the kids back home and a couple of friends in Toronto, who shall remain nameless cuz I don't want them to think I'm expecting something in return. In the evening I was invited to dinner at Colin and Anthony's place and to help them decorate the Christmas tree! It was a very nice evening.

In this picture you have Anthony and his sisterBuddy was a big help in getting the decorations up on the tree!
The end result: The most beautiful Christmas tree in Toronto!
OH NO! Here's Mr. Grinch again! (check out my 2003 xmas pics)
A kiss n' dip for Buddy...

Friday

I woke up this morning to some new snow on the ground! I swear that I heard thunder at around 3:30a.m. while the snow was still falling heavy. It could have also been a big truck passing by... Now I wonder.

Friday

First time trying Korean BBQ with my good friend Jerome. We went to this new place on Yonge & College called Grill Time Korean BBQ House. I totally recommend it! I do have to learn to master the skill of keeping the food goin' on the grill. I noticed that when I was eating I would completely forget about cooking the food. After dinner we went back to his place and played video games and watched a basketball game on TV. It had been a while since I felt butch like this! LOL

WHY DOGS DO NOT LIVE AS LONG AS PEOPLE
Beautiful...and true!
Why dogs do not live as long as people...
A real wisdom filled from a four year old child. Why dogs do not live as long as people...

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family there were no miracles left for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for the four-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience. The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.

Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.

Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why." Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?"
The four-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."
