Mango is one of my favourite fruits...

The mango is a genus of about 35 species of tropical fruiting trees in the flowering plant family Anacardiaceae, native to India and Southeast Asia, of which the Indian Mango M. indica is by far the most important commercially. Reference to mangos as the "food of the gods" can be found in the Hindu Vedas. The name of the fruit comes from the Malayalam word manga, and popularised by the Portuguese after their Indian exploration, hence the word 'manga' in Portuguese.

Friday

Finally the weekend is almost here. What a week I've had! Work has been crazy busy and I started feeling like I was coming down with a cold or something. So I got out my vitamins (as I don't take them everyday like I should) and ate lots of oranges and mangos to try and beat off that sickness. But by Thursday I had to stay home because my cold had progressed and I was in no shape to go to work. Today, I'm feeling a bit better. Might go to the walk-in clinic to have it checked out. But I think this is the tail end. This weekend we're in for some awesome weather so I'd like to go out and enjoy it.

Jay Jay the Painter!

Diane's little boy at 2 1/2 years old. He's growing up so fast!! Can't wait to go home for a visit and see this little guy. Diane was just telling me the other day that he started calling her "Honey" instead of Mom. Now how cute is that??

I just got off the phone with my best friend Diane and she was telling me that her and Denise have been talking about visiting me in Toronto this summer! How cool would that be!! So I'll be checking for some prices on air fare over the weekend. Unfortunately, they want be able to bring their little ones, Jay Jay and Chantelle, but I'll get to see them real soon. I too am planning a trip to the east coast to see my family and friends.

Well I should get going so happy Friday everyone!

Wednesday

I took Buddy to the boardwalk at the Beaches AGAIN! Buddy is one spoiled doggie. But he loves it at the Beaches and I do too!!

It was nice hangging out with Erick after work and later on we went to eat at Harvey's, which gave me a slight heartburn, Greesy food = heartburns! but who can resist Harvey's cheeseburgers... I mean they make the best ever! mmm

Tuesday

I think most people would agree that it's always hard to go back to work after a long weekend. But without sounding too whinny, I just want to say that I came back on Tuesday morning feeling refresh and energize. On Friday, a bunch of us went to the movies and watched Scary Movies 4.

The movie is hilarious and totally worth seeing!!


On Saturday I took Buddy for a walk at the Beaches with my friend Colin. It's so much fun to watch Buddy sniff around and get all excited when he sees other dogs. As for Sunday, I attended Church for the Easter service with Erick and Colin... Afterwards we went to do some shopping in Chinatown which is just a few blocks from there. I find that fruits, vegetables and tofu/soya products are considerably cheaper than most grocery stores in Toronto! Later on, I went for an awesome roast-lamb dinner at Colin's place, complimentary of his roommate, Chef Anthony and his great culinary skills. (Buddy gave it a two paws up for a lamb well done! hehe.)
